Input Instructions
1.Use dropdown boxes to select from the available choices starting on the left with storey name.
2. Concrete core - above ground uses the 150mm core, and 200mm is for acoustic/party walls. Basements use
either the 250 or 300mm cores.
3.Insulation - Select the insulation level you want - the lower the U-value the greater will be the energy savings.
4. Wall Height - Take external wall height rounded up to next 300mm (which are the Polarwall course heights)
5. Perimeter - Total external wall dimensions and enter result in metres. See example above
6. Total the area of the door and window openings - if guessing allow 15% of gross wall area.

Other Related Build Costs

Reinforcing steel - Basement walls need reinforcement. Welded wire mesh is quicker and cheaper than rebar
Labour - Build speeds vary depending upon experience, complexity, reinforcement, openings, access etc.
If project is a self-build, assume a novice rate of 1 sq m/hour below ground and 1.5 sq.m./hour above ground,
but if a Polarwall Approved Contractor is to be used refer to him for the labour cost estimate.
